If you find out some bug and want to see it fixed in 2.24.1, let us know.

Affter that, if you don’t like or don’t want to install GNOME by compiling it, just wait for a distribution near to you. Ubuntu Intrepid, for example, will be released in the end of October, featuring GNOME 2.24.

If you set up a VM, why not with Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex?

Could help finding bugs and so. No danger in a VBox.

Why no virtualbox???

Use the raw image for VirtualBox, Tom:

$ gunzip gnome-live-2.24.0.hdd.gz
$ VBoxManage convertdd gnome-live-2.24.0.hdd gnome-live-2.24.0.vdi

Create a new virtual machine using the .vdi as harddisk… et voilà.

The VMware VDI file should work in VirtualBox without any conversion (haven’t tried though).

Or you can install Mandriva Linux 2009 RC2, which already features GNOME 2.24 final. :)

Ok, I tried it. But I couldn’t find anything exciting TBH.

OK, I tried Mandriva and it does not seem to have all the new features ( Actually I couldn’t tell any difference at all. )

I will try the image and Empathy soon.

Keep up the good work.
